Leadership Institute

The Warren County Leadership Institute, formed in 1993, is affiliated with the Warren County Economic Development Corporation (WCEDC) and is an integral part of fulfilling WCEDC's mission. The Institute's primary objective is to train and inform leaders. A fifteen to twenty-one member board designs and administers each year's leadership program. Board members serve a three-year term and all are graduates of the leadership program.

Warren County residents are encouraged to create the best future for themselves, their families, their communities, and their county. The Warren County Leadership Institute facilitates interactive classroom programs and networking opportunities designed specifically to assist emerging leaders.

The Leadership Program, consisting of eight sessions followed by a graduation ceremony, familiarizes potential and existing leaders who live or work in Warren County with the choices and challenges facing the county. Each Session, usually held in the evening to accommodate participants' busy schedules, is devoted to a general issue.

While each session features expert facilitators, the Warren County Leadership Institute encourages and fosters an atmosphere where all participants will:

  • share ideas and concerns relating to their communities and learn from other participants in a networking environment.

  • develop tools and strategies for building their own communities as well as the larger community of Warren County.

  • appreciate the diversity of communities that comprise Warren County and use that diversity to benefit the entire area.

  • identify specific areas of personal interest and develop the knowledge and confidence to take an active leadership role in the community.
