Drink Local Tour Use the arrows on the sides of the slides below to navigate the tour! The “Drink Local” Tour! We’ve got a weekend full of locally made wine, beer and spirits, plus food and music to go with it. You’ll find plenty of variety, beautiful rural settings, and a bit of small town charm in this list. Hours and details may change without notice, be sure to check the website links for updates or call ahead to confirm, and don’t forget to bring your designated driver! Friday Night Kick off the weekend with dinner on the deck at La Vida Loca Winery, in a beautiful setting west of Indianola (select weeks only – check schedule) Saturday Morning Tour one of our distilleries and grab a bottle or two for later. Iowa Distilling Company serves award winning Bourbon, cinnamon-flavored whiskey and more in their cocktail lounge. Their century-old brick building is just off the Great Western Trail in Cumming, and the lounge boasts views of the distillery equipment in action. Just down the road is one of Iowa’s smallest distilleries, Broadbent Distillery, with tours available by appointment. Saturday Afternoon Spend the afternoon sipping wine in the tasting room or on the deck at Annelise Winery, just outside of Indianola. This family owned winery and vineyard makes more than a dozen wines from grapes grown on site and at nearby vineyards. Saturday Night Head to downtown Indianola for a mini bar-crawl of Warren County’s 2 newest beer-makers: West Hill Brewing Company brews local at 219 West Salem and Into Brewing serves up their beer at the Zoo Bar on 102 West Ashland Avenue. Sunday Morning You might almost feel like you’re headed to church when you plug the name “Two Saints Winery” in your GPS on a Sunday morning. ;) At Two Saints you can have a taste of completely local wines, made using only grapes grow in Warren County. Enjoy the view of the 10-acre vineyard and surrounding woods from the deck. Sunday Lunch Locals rave about The Social Station for good eats, and lucky for you, you’ll drive right by it on your way up to Summerset Winery, on Highway 28 in Prole. It’s not every day you find awesome food sharing a building with the local post office, but Prole is just special that way. Sunday Afternoon Catch a live concert at Summerset Winery (check the website for the schedule for their Sunday concerts). Their award-winning wine and beautiful setting make Summerset a favorite with locals. Saturday lunch Grab some brews and italian for lunch at Coco & Nini's in downtown Carlisle!
