This contest is for existing small business who are looking to grow or those who are looking to start-up a business within Warren County. A total of $19,000 is awarded annually to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in two categories: Start-Up Businesses or Existing Businesses. LEARN MORE

WCEDC assists interested parties with their site certification efforts. The Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Certified Site Program assists businesses that are looking to build new facilities or are searching for sites suitable for their development purposes with a high degree of due diligence and that are shovel ready and project ready. WCEDC and McCoy True Value Hardware in Indianola have teamed up to offer a commercial paint grant program to spur business beautification efforts throughout Warren County. Award winners will receive up to five gallons of free paint from McCoy True Value in Indianola. CLICK HERE TO APPLY
The member communities of Warren County Hometown Pride bring volunteers together to build a sense of community, create and improve public amenities, and celebrate what makes our towns great. Warren County Hometown Pride is made up of 7 local committees in 7 participating towns across the County: Carlisle, Cumming, Hartford, Indianola, Milo, New Virginia, and Norwalk. Each committee operates independently, but they also work together to share ideas and resources, support each other, and implement regional projects.
WCEDC has played an integral role in the establishment of the Warren County Hometown Pride Program and actively supports, collaborates, and financially contributes to the endeavors of this program. LEARN MORE
Warren County Economic Development works in partnership with the communities within Warren County to support veterans. WCEDC and partner communities provide a series of incentives and assistance programs that are unique to veterans who either currently reside in Warren County, or veterans seeking to call Warren County communities home for residence and/or business ventures. ‘Home Base Iowa’ and the communities within Warren County to provide comprehensive resources to fit veteran’s needs. Iowa communities have two tools which are most used to assist economic development – tax abatement and tax increment financing (TIF). Every Warren County community has the ability to offer an industrial tax abatement to reduce or eliminate overall several years a business’s property tax liability on new tax value added.
