City of Norwalk Announces Newest Addition to Norwalk Central at The Gregg Young Sports Campus (GYSC)

NORWALK, IOWA – January 4, 2024 – The City of Norwalk, in conjunction with SportsPlex USA, Gregg Young Sports Campus, Sportsman Solutions, and TPH Academy, is thrilled to announce that TPH Academy will be a part of the Gregg Young Sports Campus at Norwalk Central and is ecstatic about bringing its Study-Train-Play experience to aspiring, elite student-athletes from across Central Iowa.

Combining sport-specific training with a completely individualized, customized, NCAA-accredited learning experience and mentorship on the process of becoming elite, TPH Academy is geared towards 6-12th grade student-athletes who possess a desire to chase their athletic, academic, and life goals all at once.

A model that mirrors a traditional school day and year, the TPH Academy experience is built on:

• Academics delivered in a blended learning environment, where virtual curriculum is merged with on-site support and facilitation, creating a best-of-both-worlds experience designed to meet the demands and expectations of today's aspiring-elite student-athletes.

• Sport-specific and sports performance training for student-athletes across most sports, under the direction of Sportsplex West and D1 coaches, with instruction tailored to the athlete's sport of choice and future goals.

• Customization in all facets of the experience, so that student-athletes are Studying, Training, and Playing when, where, and how they do it best.

• Innovations in athletic testing, personal wellness, and sport performance, ensuring that growth is quantifiable, and athletes have every opportunity to supercharge their development.

• Implementation of social and real-world experiences so that student-athletes enhance leadership skills, gain perspective, and develop a sense of community.

• Access to Coach F.A.'s Mentorship Program, TPH Academy's sport-general, athlete-specific leadership, personal development, and elite-athlete mindset offering.

• Thanks to the IAHSAA Open Enrollment Program, the possibility for student-athletes to attend TPH Academy and remain enrolled in their local school, permitting them to participate in scholastic sports and extracurricular activities in the district they reside in.
